Over the past several years, many Virginia Lions and Lioness members have been consistently at the forefront in planning, coordinating and helping to provide community and humanitarian service to those in need. In recognition of those outstanding individuals, the Lions of Virginia Foundation is making available the "Lions of Virginia Distinguished Humanitarian" award. the attractive design, illustrated above, is mounted on a 10" X 14" mahogany wood plaque. The heavy outline of the State of Virginia is cut with a three inch diameter LOVF logo mounted in the upper left corner. The plaque is the center of the state and along the bottom area is a black lacquered metal plate with the engraving cut thru the bronze metal.

We feel that this highest honor is fitting recognition for outstanding commitment and dedication to the ideal of rendering humanitarian service by the Lions of Virginia Foundation. Suggested recipients are Past Club Presidents and other officers and members. Cabinet members, District and Past District Governors, Life members and those Virginians who have served at the International level. A posthumous award may be given to the spouse or family of past members so honored. Selected members of the community may also be recognized and so honored.

The award is available with the contribution of $750 to LOVF, payable in a single, two or three payments over up to three years. Also, the LOVF, a Virginia corporation organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes, is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
